smartMember is an ExpressionEngine module which enables a seamless integration between ExpressionEngine and the aMember membership script.
This is accomplished by two main features:
- Two Way Database Communication: With the implementation of smartMember, your EE application will have direct communication with the aMember database. This allows for 100% user management from within ExpressionEngine's native User Control Panels. All username, email, and password edits will be replicated across both databases.
- Stand Alone Registration Form (SARF): The addition of a SARF allows complete control of the user's registration experience and keeps the registration process within ExpressionEngine all the way up to the payment processing.
Additional Features:
- Payment History via EE's User CP: Last six transactions displayed by default; expandable to full history on click.
- Add/Renew Subscription via EE's User CP: Dropdown list of subscription options direct from aMember, coupon option, and order processing.
- Membership Information Link added to EE's User CP: Allows users to reach additional aMember options, such as the ability to cancel their current memberships.
Requirements
smartMember is an ExpressionEngine module and extension which requires ExpressionEngine 1.6+.
smartMember's sole purpose is to integrate ExpressionEngine with aMember and therefore requires aMember Professional 3.0.9+ with the EE Plugin Option.

Seamless and simple!

"Getting a robust membership solution is now far easier thanks to the Expression Engine (EE)-Amember custom module from Rick Meder and his team. If you have purchased Expression Engine and Amember (and the amember EE plugin) you'll realise that it can be frustrating for the customer to be forced to login through the Amember sign-in page to "turn on" their Expression Engine login. Now with Rick's solution the "missing half" allowed me to create a standalone registration form INSIDE Expression Engine that passes all the details to the Amember system. Once the customer makes a purchase, all their purchase and membership information is neatly contained in the EE member profile template - no more having to login to two systems to manage customer information.
The install was seamless and even a php dummy like me can just paste in some code (all directions are precisely given) - and it worked first time. Rick was extremely helpful with after-sales service when I wanted to confirm that I had gone the right way about creating the registration form link from my EE home page and I would say has saved me countless hours and dollars trying to figure this out for myself or post a project on elance. If you are looking for an easy and practical membership CMS (Expression Engine) and membership payment system (Amember) that are well integrated I highly recommend you use the Amember EE module along with Rick Meder's solution!"
